TYPE:
Our jungle lodge is comprised of 18 comfortable palm-thatched
cottage rooms, two garden suites, two treetop suites,
and an orchard villa, nestled along the riverside in a
setting of unmatched beauty and tranquility. LOCATION:
Set along the banks of the Macal River in the foothills
of the Maya Mountains, a short drive from San Ignacio
Town.
ROOMS:
Each palm-thatched cottage has Mexican tiled floors,
large mahogany beds, original artwork and private bathrooms
with hot showers. Spacious sundeck verandahs allow guests
to view wildlife and interact with nature.
The Camp at Chaa Creek located within the nature reserve
a half-mile down river from the lodge, features ten
fully-screened casitas, each having two comfortable
beds with fresh linens and a private sheltered porch
for quiet relaxation and peaceful views in the undisturbed
jungle habitat.
FEATURES:
Guests can interact with nature by exploring the river
and miles of well-maintained trails, Mayan temple sites,
and through activities such as hiking, canoeing, horseback
riding, mountain biking and bird watching. Wildlife
abounds, and some 250 species of birds have been sighted
within the reserve. Conference centre, Natural History
Centre, Butterfly Farm, Spa.
COMMENTS:
As a private 340-acre nature reserve set along the banks
of the Macal River in the foothills of the Maya Mountains,
we have provided a unique rainforest experience for
thousands of people while maintaining an unspoiled ambience.
