Our tour, which starts early in the morning at your hotel, will take you to an excellent paved highway through Western Honduras, following the Chamelecon River Valley. During the trip, you will see enchanting rural scenes, which include forested mountains, livestock farms, tobacco plantations and in the higher elevations, coffee "fincas". The trip to Copan will take two hours and a half. Upon arrival to the Ruins, our bilingual guide will guide you a walking tour of the Main Archaeological site. The tour includes the acropolis, teh ball court, the hieroglyphic stairway and the great plaza of the stelaes; as well as the new majestic Museum of Mayan Sculpture, acclaimed by experts as unique in the Mayan World. A masterpiece within the museum is the exact size replica of the famed Rosalila Temple, discovered in 1989. Lunch will be provided in the quaint colonial town of Copan ruins. There will be time for shopping and strolling around the town before our departure in the late afternoon towards San Pedro Sula. We will arrive at your hotel in the late evening.
